The Associated Press reported that an AP-NORC and USAFacts survey found low trust in federal government information across several topics. Only 34% of U.S. adults trusted government certifications of election results a great deal or quite a bit, down from 40% in 2024. The report describes reported trust. It does not explain every respondent’s reasoning or prove one policy caused the change.
The Census Bureau reported 531,728 business applications in August 2026, down 7.8% from July. An application is an early pipeline signal. It is not a formed firm, a surviving firm, or a measure of local job creation.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 162,000 additional nonfarm jobs in August, with gains in food services and local government education and a loss in information employment. A national measure can show direction while hiding different industry pathways.
An AACSB practitioner article describes VR and AI as tools for repeated management-skill practice and feedback. That is a useful design proposal. It is not a controlled evaluation of every learner or classroom.
These signals share one practical move. Do not stop at the headline. Identify the measure, trace the route to the person or organization affected, and choose an observation that could change the decision. Farnam Street’s current reminder is simple: watch what people do, not only what they say.
