The World Bank Group describes an independent check on governance, accountability, risk, and internal controls. Stanford GSB reports a field experiment with cash-only retailers. Hands-on setup, repairs, staff training, and customer outreach raised use of digital payments in that study. AACSB says research impact needs paths beyond publication and citation counts. Farnam Street’s Surprises issue adds that plans should leave room for unusual paths.
These cases differ. They support one bounded practice. Name what makes a goal usable before treating the plan as complete. The sources do not prove better results for all institutions. They also do not prove the same finance or adoption gains everywhere, more research impact, or better decisions from this model.
